Low Whistles on Ebay

Anyone tried this kind, or know anything about them?

There is another one for sale by the same seller, but two-piece instead of three.

Mr Poe makes hard whistle cases…and is also a reader of C&F…

I tried one of Mr. Poe’s polymer flutes and I was…well, “unimpressed” would be an understatement: I found the instruments Playability, Tone, and Finish to be lacking.

Loren

Hi all,

I’m the maker of the aforementioned whistles. I’m not a huge poster on the board, and am reluctant to initiate comercial posts but would like to try to be helpful.

I am fairly new to whistle making. I’ve been designing and testing my current low whistles over the last year and a half or so and feel that I have solid instrument to offer.

Would anyone be interested in doing some “beta-testing” on the board? If anyone is interested, perhaps you could PM me and we could make some arrangements.

Any instrument that leaves my shop always has a satisfaction gurantee. I truly don’t want anyone to end up with an instrument that they don’t care for or doesn’t meet their requirements.

Best wishes to all,
Bryan

Has anyone heard from Bryan re. this?

I responded by PM and he answered me back accepting my offer to do beta testing. That was July 17th. I have not heard anything since ~ have sent a couple of emails and PM’s but no response. Anyone else have a similar experience?

Bryan wrote to me re: the flute I referenced, and was kind enough to agree to send a newer, improved model for testing and return. I was unable to accept the flute at that time, mid july, due to my situation at the time, but I just sent Byan a PM a day or two ago requesting telling him now would be a good time. Haven’t heard back from him yet, but it’s only been two days. His other communications with me were quite prompt and polite.

Gerry, could you send me a PM with his e-mail address please? I’ve lost it I’m afraid.

Thanks,

Loren

I sent Bryan a PM in mid-July and a regular email a week later. No replies to either.

I’ve enchanged a couple of friendly messages about the possibility of beta testing one of his low D whistles. I haven’t heard from him in a week or two.

Dear bryan
I have not personally tried one of your whistles but on the basis of the sound sample and photos it looks and sounds fine to me.I also like your voicing options.

Your whistle has a different tone to others. I personally like whistles with different tones as you can inject a bit of variety into your playing. If i play on the same whistle for too long I end up getting a bit bored with the sound, even on my own whistles. So I usually have a large collection of whistles (getting bigger all the time)

As a maker myself i am only too aware that you cannot make a whistle to please everyone. Some people will love them ,some will hate them thats life.

all the best
john
