A question on cuts to low d-I can’t seem to make a clean one on my low whistle. However, I am making a pretty good sound doing more of a trill (simply lifting my finger quickly on the d) anyone else out there having this same problem? Anyone else using this same solution or having a better/different idea?
Try lifting the right hand index finger, this should give a wonderfull low D cut.
will do, though I’m hearing in other posts that it may be that I just may have the hardest low whistle to play (susato). I’ll let you know how it goes once I"ve practiced a while-thanks for the idea-it wasn’t working the traditional way for sure.
I don’t know if you have checked it out but Phil Hardy has some tutorial clips on his website www.kerrywhistles.com. Might help to check those out as well. It did for me.
