Is the flute or my Embouchure that is limiting my low D? 
Usually, it’s the player. You have a Hall crystal flute, right? I had one in the past, and I don’t recall it having a super strong low octave, though, so don’t expect the rattle of a larger holed conical flute on the low D.

That is what I thought yes I do have a Hall crystal I like though but when I get all warmed up and everything the low d isn’t that bad.
This is why it is so important for a beginner to have a good instrument - that way, you can be sure it’s you when something is wrong…
