Loss of D&E on Low D

After playing my Low D for a short while, I lose the ability to play the E and then a few measures later the D also goes. My fingering seems to be the same, what else could be going wrong? Am I just getting tired?

What instrument are you playing?
(Maker?) How long have you been
playing whistles? Low Ds? Best

I was having a similar problem with my overton low-d. I.E. It was getting more and more difficult to get the lower octave notes. What I found was that an accumulation of residue had built up inside the tube (from blade to the end). I purchase a Flute Swab from Mars Music (see other post) made for a D crystal flute. This made it easy to clean out the inside of the tube and my solid lower octave came right back. I, by habit, always check the wind way when having problems with the lower octave but had never thought to check the rest of the Whistle.

Hope this helps you …

Enjoy Your Music,
