Lorcan Dunne

Does anybody know anything about Lorcan Dunne’s pipes?
thanks,
Jack Devereux

I have the very first set he made (over 30 years ago, I believe – I’d have to check). The chanter played fine and mostly in tune, wasn’t hard to reed and was fun to play. The drones worked fine and two of the regulators worked fine, though I think the tenor was not completely finished.

I can’t speak for his new sets, but if he’s learned on a constant curve from his first set, I’d say they should be just fine. I’m sure someone with more experience from a more recent set will speak out.

The reason I ask is that I am toying with the idea of getting a D set, and had heard that his stuff is simelar to Froments. Is that true?
