Looking Pretty

ooooo…you’ll never know…

Touche.

Loren

This is frightening. My first thought was the same as Amar’s. Anyone know a good exorcist?

Meanwhile, our twenty year old female SilverStrand started this and still hasn’t posted a self-portrait. That’s cheating.

I think barefeet are cute. A response which has nothing whatsoever to do with being pregnant and in the kitchen. (Not that I’m either of those.)
Barefeet are just cute.

Sorry but I think she’s balding…

Mary

My scanner is broken! Plus I don’t have a recent picture…I’ll make sure to take some photos of me on my 21st…BEFORE I start drinking…

Don’t ya’ll be too hard on her 'cause she’s skinny.
I too use to suffer from this.(notice I said “use to”)

Only someone who’s been there can know that it is just as frustrating, maybe more, to be underweight. At every turn there’s some new way to “fix” the overweight. But, very little for those of us who for some reason are just plain skinny., no matter what we eat. I use to eat more than most large men but never weighed over 100 lbs until I hit 35- that 's not counting when I was late in my pregnancies and topped out at 125. :astonished:

Of course- as they say, time cures all, and it did put weight on my bones.

She’s playing a Generation. Can’t you people see that?

Amazing! Some people actually looked at the WHISTLE!

Well of course we looked at the whistle… I mean just look what view its obstructing :open_mouth:

Being new to the whistle I hadn’t heard Andrea play.
Would someone be kind enough to direct me to a CD title?

She IS very thin. Perhaps some of that flewr gravy would help.

The Corrs-Forgiven Not Forgotten
The Corrs-Talk on Corners
The Corrs-In Blue
The Corrs-Borrowed Heaven (just released)

I highly recommend getting their live albums…they are great live!

The Corrs Unplugged
The Corrs Live in Dublin

A great band…their first album, Forgiven Not Forgotten is my favorite…classic Irish Rock. Their album, In Blue, they go heavy on their pop side, but it’s still good.

I was sorely dissapointed with “In Blue”. Do you have “Borrowed Heaven” yet?
I’m not impressed w/ the small samples I heard off of Amazon,
and I don’t want to have my heart broken again…

My friend saw them at a small concert, where he was very close to the stage,
and said that all the Corrs are very, very short. So she probably weighed about
85 lbs in that 1st pic…

The Irish must like it like that, though: in Ireland in 2000, Andrea was voted Most Beautiful Woman in the World.
(Catherine Zeta Jones was 3rd… the sheer insanity!!!)

Let me tell you: when I heard the samples about a month before the album came out, I was disappointed too…but the album is SO good!! I’m not a big fan of Summer Sunshine, although it is a cute song that is perfect for the summer.

But the next four songs are fantastic! Then there is Time Enough for Tears that was written by Bono for the film In America. A lot of fans didn’t like the fact that this song was put onto the album because it’s a bit out of place. It’s very jazzy, and it shows a completely different Andrea. I really like the song personally. Humdrum has kind of a r&b hip hop beat with IRish music, it’s like a sequel to I Never Loved you Anyways!

There is the actual song Borrowed Heaven which I heard was amazing when it is performed live. On the album, an African group chants “Borrowed Heaven” in the backround. The lyrics are brilliant, I think. Just the whole meaning of that song is lovely.

As for the rest, they are great as well…the song Even If has a great Irish solo!! Brings back reminders of the Forgiven Not Forgotten era. Then the album ends with Silver Strand the instrumental which is amazing and it was written by Sharon and Caroline.

I like how this album has a mixture of all their albums, even In Blue. But this is definitely better than In Blue by far!

OK, I’ll spend some $$ on them again. But this is their last chance.

I guess I was mostly disapointed at the relative lack of Irish sound on In Blue.
If they have let that seep back in, with other world music influences, then it should be all good.

I think they have a bit of Irish in most of their songs on this album, save for a few. But I really think they listened to their fans for this one.

I must admit you’re correct!

Slan,
BB (who is not on the A.C. diet)

OK, I bought it. I’m going to reserve judgement until I’ve listened a couple more times, but I definately agree that it’s better than “In Blue”!

The thing that really set them apart from a regular Pop act was the Irish sound (though, Andrea does have a nice voice), especially on the songs they don’t release for the radio (the remakes “Little Wing” and “Dreams” leap to mind). I was afraid they had let that go just for a little more American audience share… Glad to hear it again!

I think what I miss the most about their albums was during the breaks in between some songs they had little traditional pieces being played in between…I really liked that, but they only did that for Forgiven not Forgotten and talk on Corners.
