Looking for workshops in Chicago area

Anyone know of any upcoming Chicago area whistle workshops for beginners?

It’s not a workshop, but the Old Town School offers Tin Whistle 1 and Tin Whistle 2.

Have you checked out the Irish American Heritage Center?

The Murphy Roche session at the Kerry Piper is very open to beginners. We’re thinking of starting a slow session in a few weeks.

Yeah, the Old Town is probably your best and a good bet. I don’t know the person who teaches whistle I and II, but i’m sure you’d have a good experience. I got my start why back when at the old town. “back in the day”… i’ve always enjoyed that place. recently took latin dance lesson there too…

as for glauber’s session, those guys are trouble

Yeah trouble… i remember you, by the way. Blew me clear out of the water one night. If you’re who i think you are. I want to play like you when i grow up.

It’s not my session. The fact they tollerate me attests to the noisy environment at the pub.

thanks glauber. your flattery well earn you many pints! i remember really enjoying that session. wish we’d actually’d connected. big down side for me though: it is way out there. and i don’t gotta car. bummer. but i’d love to get out there again sometime though. god, and i’d love a car. perhap somebody could IM one to me?
