Looking for tune "Kingsford"

Hello all, I hope everyone had a nice weekend!

I’m looking for sheet music for a tune called “Kingsford”. It is a lovely, simple traditional English tune that is used in several Christian hymns including “When Jesus left his Father’s throne”. I found some music for piano but, sadly, I don’t play the piano so I have no idea how to convert chords into individual notes :frowning:

Go to http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm and type in your keyword(s) in the search engine; it should come right up.

For some reason the URL won’t link here, though …

'luck now,
brian_k

Interesting. The melody sounds very much like a simplified variation of Star of the County Down.

Thank-you brian_k. I had never seen this website

Yes, it does sound like a simple version of Star of the County Down.

Oh, on the same topic. When I heard this tune at church on Sunday it was so familiar yet I swear I had never heard it before. It bothered me for a while until I realized I had heard a woman with a very haunting voice sing to the same tune - it was on an Internet radio station (maybe Highlander radio?) and she had very little music accompaniment - alas, I do not know who it was but I certainly wish I could remember.

Do you play it when you’re about to light the grill?

(Rim-shot) Sorry, couldn’t help myself!
