Looking for sheet music to Joy Of Life!

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone would know where I could find the sheet music to The Corrs’ tune “Joy of Life”; I absolutely love this tune and would love to learn it.

I found sheet music to it a while back, but I soon discovered that it didn’t match to what The Corrs were playing.

If anyone knows where I might locate the sheet music, I’d really appreciate it.

Thanks and happy Thanksgiving!

Sara

I have also heard it called Donnybrook Fair.

If you are looking for the jig in the key of G entitled “The Joy of My Life” aka “Donnybrook Fair”, you can find it in O’Neill’s, which should be in your music collection in any case. . .

And if you don’t have O’Neill’s…Try this http://thesession.org/tunes/display.php/26
That is, of course, assuming it’s the same tune.

Hi Sara,

The Joy of Life is actually 2 tunes played back to back.

The first is Carraroe Jig and the 2nd one is called Trout in the Bath. Hope your ale to find both.

I found sheet music to it a while back, but I soon discovered that it didn’t match to what The Corrs were playing.

Was it just not an exact match, or was it an entirely different tune?

Wayne’s correct…the Corrs’ version is two tunes back to back and unless they publish a “Corrs Live in Dublin” song book with tablature, you’ll never find any sheet music that’s exactly the way they do it. I really love their version as well and have learned it by ear but haven’t had time to write out the tablature.

A couple months ago I found a web site with several Corrs songs that someone had done note-for-note but have lost the URL. I did, however, download some of them, including part of Joy of Life, which is the “Trout in the Bath”. I’d be happy to send it to anyone who wants it. Just e-mail me at drcannon@hiwaay.net.

I meant to post a thank you sooner, but haven’t been able to get on the board - I kept getting a page could not be displayed. Oh well. . .

Thanks for the replies! To answer Ridseard’s question - I think it was just not the exact match.

I think perhaps the link kardshark provided is the correct sheet music, I will play it later to find out.

Thanks again!

Peace and harmony,
Sara

Having listened to Trout in the Bath via the Corrs site, it ain’t Donnybrook Fair.

Play the violin part and see.
