Looking for a source for a particular apple candy.

Several years ago, a “high-end” ($$$) candy store where we used to live used to stock these wonderful little apple candies. (I believe they have since closed, but since we are now a 3+ hour drive from there, I’m not even sure of that.)

They were a round ball, about the diameter of a quarter, and bright green, with just a blush of (you guessed it) candy-apple-red on one side.

They were sweet with just a touch of a sour bite and sort of green-apple flavored, but the best part about it was the texture. The outside of the candy was a sugar shell that would yield slightly when bitten before breaking open; the inside was a sweet, apple-flavored gell.

The sensation was actually quite similar to biting into a real apple.

Can anyone tell me what they are called, and if there is a source online from which they may be obtained? We have found something similar which seems to be a gumball; this wasn’t a gum, but they were surely good!

Thanks.

these?

That looks pretty close.

Where’d you find 'em?

The image is from http://www.bonbonschoppy.com

If you go to:

http://www.bonbonschoppy.com/en/en.html

And look under Traditional confectionery & nuts there is a section
called “Wrapped Candy” (NOT the one under sugar free, mind you),
and under that is a link that says “- Fruit Flavored”. Click on that,
the apple candy pictured is on that page.
(Sorry I can’t post a link directly to the page, the web designer for
Choppy Candy has prevented that for some reason.)

Thanks Fearfaoin, you beat me to the punch.

You gotta really like the candy though..it looks like the standard order is 10 lbs and $50.00.

Ooooofffff! That’s way too much!!! :astonished:

I don’t think we’ll be ordering it at that price anytime soon, unfortunately.

Shannon looked at this with me, we don’t think that’s quite the right candy.

The candy pictured has is close but not it.

What we’re looking for, the red is more of a blush than a streak, and the candy is a bit duller green.

It’s close, though.
