Hi!
I recently lost my cherished shaw because my guitar was stolen, and the shaw was in the case. So I lost 2 birds with one stone. Something like that.
Anyway, I quite like these whistles, but only found this out after dave shaw had passed away, and it had been quite difficult to acquire that whistle already. Now I have even less hope of finding one. Does someone have one of these lying around and is willing to sell them?

I don’t, but I’d definitely set a saved search on eBay for it. You never know, the thief might eventually decide to try and sell it!
There is an interesting lot of old whistles on eBay right now, in the UK, which includes a Shaw D. Bidding ends soon. I’m in the US and not bidding.
Take the import taxes into consideration on that.
I recently bought a second hand CD (Gary Hastings & Seamus Quinn) off ebay, didn’t consider it was from the UK and was hit with customs tax of a tenner (over the purchase price plus postage). It suddenly didn’t come at a reasonable price anymore.
Well, living in the US now, if you try to order stuff from abroad you are lucky if it arrives at all.
I recently bought an antique flute at auction, in the UK, and had it shipped to my sister’s place (also in the UK). I’m still trying to figure out how to get it back over here safely.
So consider yourself lucky to only be out a tenner!
