Looking for a recording

For the last few years, I’ve been looking for a children’s record by the Irish Rovers.

It’s called The Children of the Unicorn and it was put out by K-Tel records in the late 70s/early 80s and I had it when I was a child, and now I’m looking for it for my son. (We still have the record, but it’s virtually unplayable due to being the property of a pair of young boys…)

Anyway, I’ve been hunting all over ebay, and any used record store I come across with no luck – I’m just wondering if anyone around this board has a copy, or has seen one around.

(Due to the ignomius death of K-Tel Records at the hand of the internet bubble, I doubt anything is being done with this recording, if even the masters still exist)

I did a google search and came up with several hits. Try this one on Amazon. It is a remastered album of The Best of the Irish Rovers. The Unicorn song is on it.

I don’t care what anyone says, this is not a traditional Irish tune, unlike the Scottish singer said at our next-to-last gig. Anyone ever hear of the Playboy cartoonist, Shel Silverstein? He wrote the thing.
