I got a whistle music book for christmas http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?z=y&EAN=9780825617270&itm=3 .
This is definately not for beginners, I’m having trouble with the fast tempo on a lot of these
I’m so used to playing slow airs on a low whistle its all new to me. Luckily it comes with a cd that plays all the songs for you so at least I know what sound SHOULD be coming out of my whistle.
My favorite so far is The Countess Cathleen, does anyone else play this one? It was one of my favorites from the show.
That is a nifty tune. More like a set of tunes, as I remember it. Does the book come with a cute redhaded dancer? Now that would be motivation to practice.
I’ve been meaning to get that book-- “Reel Around the Sun” is fun to listen to, and in a few YEARS, I know I could play it!
