Hey all,
well I guess I have dropped off the face of the earth now for a while. Life has rather sucked for me lately, my 3 year relationship has ended (instead of ending in marriage as I had hoped) I was the one to end it and move out of the apartment I shared with my boyfriend, but it was one of those it ended for reasons on both sides kind of thing. Anyway so yeah I moved into my own place with my dog, and now, well I am feeling very alone in the middle of North Carolina with no family, not too many friends, in my own place, and with a whistle- thank God for the whistle. Anyway I just wanted to say hi to everyone, since I haven’t posted in forever, and say that I plan to go to a session this weekend, to try and finally get out and be social. Now Gotta try and find a life now that my “old” life is over. Sigh, its been a trying year at best. Oh well- life isn’t fair, something else I really learned this year.

Hi, Angela.
Welcome back!
There’s a fine community here, as you surely know. Drop in to chat sometime. There are folks visiting most evenings after about 9:30 or 10:00 Eastern Time.
Best wishes,
Jerry
Yes, welcome back Angela! Sorry to hear about the hard times.
It’ll only get better as new doors begin opening for you. ![]()
All the best,
Paul
Welcome back! It has been a long while since I saw yer moniker.
Well, the new CF is incredible. We NEVER talk about politics, only whistles, whistles, whistles! Well…maybe some CutiePies and…well maybe a bit of philosophy…and welll…whistles whistles whistles!
But I remain, like Walden, a lurker, really.
Angela, I know how you feel. Even when a relationship isn’t right, it can hurt like hell to lose it. I left my first husband two years ago and felt so miserable and alone that I coudn’t see my way clearly to the other side of the pain, but somehow I got through it, and, when I was ready, I opened my heart up so I could look for a new life. I found the man who is perfect for me, and now I am married to him and we have a 5-week old baby girl. Time and luck are amazing things. Hang in there. Welcome back.
Maybe God* wanted us to meet the wrong people before meeting the right one so when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift.
Maybe when the door of happiness closes, another opens, but often times we look so long at the closed door that we don’t see the one which has been opened for us.
Maybe the best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you’ve ever had.
Maybe it is true that we don’t know what we’ve got until we lose it.
Don’t go for looks; they can deceive. Don’t go for wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright. Find the one that makes your heart smile.
There are moments in life when you miss someone so much that you just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real.
Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do.
May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, enough hope to make you happy.
The happiest of people don’t necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.
The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past, you can’t go on well in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so that when you leave “this” world, you are the one smiling and everyone around you is crying.**

** actually I’d rather everyone around was smiling too, at the memories.
Angela, a friend sent me these words today - hope they might help you too!
Angela, I’m glad to see you back but very sorry to hear of the bad luck. I think a lot of us have been where you have been and can tell you that there’s life and love on the other side. I often have occasion to think, if one or the other of us had tried harder back then, we’d still be together but we’d still be unhappy. And I wouldn’t have met my current partner and I wouldn’t have THIS. The pain then was more than worth the joy now.
Good luck,
John
I sympathize, Angela.
You probably took the right decision. However, it takes only a moment to your brain to decide what’s better for you in the long term. Then comes the toughest part: the weaning. And this is harder because at guts level. That “something’s missing”, that void feeling. It’s like quitting smoking, or any other addiction, if you went through it. Hang on, and talk to others as you just did.
hi Angela, I know so very well what you are talking about, I know that it really hurts. Guess most of us have been in the same or in similar situations. It really sucks. ![]()
But the amazing thing is that pain does fade, but like any good wound, you may still carry a scar, which however is not necessarily a bad thing…we learn alot on this long journey.
Glad you’re starting to come out of your cave. Take care. ![]()
Thanks everyone for the love and support. It has been hard but I have been trying to get through all of this with whistle and knitting therapy. Its been a bit weird getting adjusted to living alone, although I really really like my place, I feel like I have my own unique little home (although it is a pigsty right now) I have never lived alone before. And my dog- thank God for dogs and all wonderful little animals- my dog has kept me going. The days I didn’t want to get up out of bed she was there jumping on me wanting a walk. At night she curls up next to me and sleeps with her head on the pillow, in the morining she nuzzles me to wake up. Some days I could just almost kill her, like when she shreds a whole new roll of toliet paper because she’s pissed at me, or steals my socks and eats them, but man I love the little mutt. There is something to be said for the unconditional love of a dog, they are always happy to see you come home!
