London St Pats Night - the definitive Uilleann craic

If the subject title didn’t do it for you, basically the question is this, please… What IS the definitive craic for a session with Uilleann pipes in London on St Pats Night this year?

Anyone know do “Kavanagh’s Irish Bar” in South Kensington; “Tir Na nOg” in Garratt Lane; “Flowers of the Forest” or “Callaghans” in Bloomsbury (nearest to our hotel for the crawl back  ) get any pipers?

Ye would do well to phone the bars in advance and see if they are doing anything at all.I was in London recently and nearly every bar that was advertised in the Irish Post as having a session had nothing of the sort.one had even changed into a Chinese restaurant for the past year.so I wouldn’t rely on that rag giving ye anything like reliable information. The couple of sessions I did get to there were no other pipers but that isnae a surprise really.
Given the wealth of information ye have had to your post it looks like ye will be going to bed with a cup o cocoa..ah the craic is mighty in London eh? :boggle:

Hi Uilliam

I have had mixed experiences too.
But no cocoa, I will have a wander round Kilburn but I will have to expect no pipes!

Kilburn has changed a lot the Irish have gone up in the world and moved on being replaced by new cultures lured to the streets of gold.History repeats itself..I think there is a bar there called Powers that used to do the music .Ye could check that out.Better still give the Irish Centre in Camden a call they will probably be doing something and that is near enough your hotel.
