Hi-- we’ll be in London on July 3,4, and 5th and were wondering if there were any open public sessions on any of those dates? Other interesting things going on?
Don’t know about sessions these days, Paul, but I have spent the 4th of July in London a couple of times. It’s just not quite the same day over there for some reason.

I certainly wouldn’t worry about that. July 4th has no significance here, it wouldn’t cross peoples mind in general. You can happily enjoy your visit without worrying about the date.
What’s on July 4th? Is it one of those funny Star Wars days?

I’ve played at the Golden Lion in Camden the odd time I’ve been in London as friends play there. It’s a good session but I heard rumours the pub is closing - hope not.
There used to be a good session at the “Blythe Hill Tavern” near Lewisham http://thesession.org/sessions/451 It’s not far from central London. You would probably need to phone just to check it’s on. I haven’t been there for a few years as I live out of London now so don’t know what is occurring. There should also be sessions in Camden Town. “The Worlds End” has one but not sure of the day.
As for other stuff… if you like galleries there is the “Tate Modern” and the “Tate Britain” which are worth seeing and for the most part are free.
Covent Garden is quite interesting for a wander and if you want an excellent vegetarian meal try “Food for Thought” at 31 Neal Street, Covent Garden.
