Liam Kelly

Just came home from an awsome Dervish show.
Liam was hot  Very, very agile.
I love Cathy’s singing.
But no Seamus O’Dowd? weird, did he leave the band?

I had heard that Seamus O’Dowd is currently taking a break from touring to be with his family. I’m not crazy about Dervish but Seamus’ mom Shiela O’Dowd is pretty damn good Sligo fiddler..

I’ve been listening to my Dervish CD lately ~ Harmony Hill. I really like it, and I agree, Liam Kelly is one agile flute player! One of those tracks is on WFO 1, I believe.

Liam Kelly is one of my heroes. (Cathy Jordan, too!)

I often think Kelly’s playing is underappreciated because he traditionally didn’t step out and do too much solo work – so I’m glad to see him taking a few more turns out in front (“The Old Swallowtail” rocks! And I still think his “Milliner’s Daughter” go on Live in Palma is a true bravura performance) of the band.

I’ll be seeing them on Friday in my neck of the woods…can’t wait. I’ve got an extra ticket because my friend just bailed.

Then on Saturday going to see Teada at Caltech.

This weekend is shaping up to be a good one.
