takin’ the revolting pheasant thing to a new level!
As a kid, I lived for a while on a farm in eastern Oregon. Mostly chickens and sheep, but one Tom turkey, my cousin’s, er, pet. Who scared the bejeezus out of everyone. When Tom got out of his pen … Well, think velociraptors, Jurassic Park. Of course they’re related - I knew that long ago.
It didn’t surprise me when Tom turned up as dinner one day. But I’m sure it messed with my childhood concept of “pet food”. I do not think it meant what I thought it meant.
I’d sure want to be inside a vehicle if some big honkin’ bird was going at me with those spurs. ![]()
Wham. KICK. Pow. Take that. Yeah, I mean YOU. In yo face, truck. Yeah, run away. You do that. Kick. Strut. Go cry to yo momma.
Turkey-fu!
My current dog is a car chaser. My wife used to panic and would yell at her to stop. I was annoyed at first but noticed that it slowed the cars down on our quiet residential street where children play. Good dog.
