A nice bit of film on Leo on Vimeo. They talk with family/friends/students/admirers, and play some new-to-me recordings of LR in the background too. For those interested, the reel you hear off and on throughout and almost in its entirety over the closing credits is called “Apples in Winter” in the Rowsome Collection, its 2nd part is akin to the tune from O’Neill’s Rolling Down the Hill, which Willie Clancy called the Old Wheels of The World.
One of his daughters passes on a rather interesting treatment Leo had for sending reeds abroad - rubbing the blades with packaging that had been used to wrap oranges in.
