Lemon trees, Lemon trees!

“Rile?” Common English word. Very old, I think. Commonly used in expressions such as “Having to endure the sight of horrible, old sinewy flesh on past-their-sell-by-date divas really riles me up.” :swear:

Well, I can only say what a couple of dictionaries had to say about it. But what do I, or they, know. I have always taken every dictionary with a grain of salt anyway.

Personally, I’m relieved that you have it, know it well, and think it’s old usage. That’s what I would have thought from the start. It’s a comforting word, and everyone should have it.

I looked it up afterwards. Seriously common word here. But apparently the proper, or at least older, form is “roil”. Hmmm … haven’t heard that for a while.
