Hi,
I am fixing one of the sockets on a Lehart flute, does anyone know how to take off the keys on his flutes, the pins appear to be soldered? They have a innovative spring system, coils around the pin mount shaft…
Thanks!
So changing pads seems to be a tricky task too…
Sometimes on bassoons (and on some german flutes and clarinets) the rods have no thread and are just a push fit between the posts, to remove them you just push them out with a flat ended steel rod, sometimes they need a little tap with a small hammer to free them up.
I can’t say I’ve ever examined a Lehart flute that closely , I just assumed they were a fairly standard construction.
Contact Gilles… I remember trying to force a pin out on a Lehart flute once, then I got scared and gave up. But I’m sure there must be a way…
Yes, I am familiar with regular post mount keys, but these appear to have the pivot pins soft soldered in place…
My guess is they are soft soldered. I guess I will have to contact him, hopefully he will give me a answer… ![]()
Quick reply, just push the pins out… they look so flush, that it threw me…
