When it’s my turn to start a tune, I can never decide. First person who names a tune I can play will get it dedicated to them, and played with all the heart and soul we can muster.
Cooley’s
I ALMOST know Cooleys but won’t start it at session. Thanks
Hint–I lke jigs
Morrisson’s
Winner.
Morrison’s, dedicated to Annie
Thanks
Hahahahaha, I was going to say that too. I just love it.
We usually do Cooley’s/Drowsy Maggie/Swinging on a gate as set. I know Swinging on a Gate and most of Drowsey Maggie but I’m learning Cooley’s.
We decided to work on the play list for this weekend’s performances and I never got to call a tune. I will do it next time Annie–which will be in about a month.
I will work on it in the interim as well.
I have yet to start on Cooley’s, though a late fiddling friend by that name has always kept it near my heart. Maybe it’s time.
I like pairing different types of tunes and one of my favorite sets is Road to Lisdoonvarna followed by Cooleys (slip jig–reel). They both start on the same couple of notes and make a terrific pairing.
