The short answer is the software I use for recording is Reaper within Reaper I can assign digital audio samples - vst’s (Virtual studio technology) to selected parts of a midi track. You will see the audio tracks in various colours in the You Tube video. I’m no expert (still learning and discovering) but helps me enjoy my music more

i once did have a testversion of a programm with wich u can make music just by the software, no need of instruments
i was able to make nice sounding clips but it wouldnt have been possible to create a melodie yopurself (or i wasnt able to)
this way, i use a software and type in a,b,c,d… and get a sheet and midi and u use a software and make it be played with different instruments…thats crazy isnt it?
anyway, ill stay with my whistle, but i must say i spent some time also to learn working with the software to write sheets

From one war song come two children’s songs. Efficient use of musical notes. Wouldn’t want to waste them.
i wanst sure about what i found there last night on that site…so i got it right? it was first a marching song and later on the notes (melodie?) was used for katie bairdie and this melodie was used to make london bridge is falling down?
and how fit that other song now into this?
anyway, it seems, we are not just learning childrens songs, we also learn about them and this way, about traditional music history 
I’d be surprised if anyone knows which came first. Which I guess is usual in “traditional music history”.
But that just makes it ‘breathier’, not ‘recorderlike’!
Every Ear is different. I somewhat hear the timber of a breathy and hollow-ish buzzy, plasticky sound of a recorder.
Again that is how I heard it. No reason to be harsh.

and looks like the whistle gets the blame because i cant play it well

to be honest i dont remember exactly how a recorder sounds (long ago that i heard one), but i never did realy like the recorder sound (well except antique recorders) and i always liked the sound of penny whistles,… so,
when i got the parks whistles i did ask myself if i like the sound, cause it sounds so clear (even when breathy) and i was wondering if it sounds like a recorder and i answered to myself, no not like a recorder but yes i like the sound a lot
if u ask me, its a clear sound, not shrill but breathy, specialy with reduced loudness trough the tonering
its very loud and the low notes are very loud too compared to the higher ones (i like that, some other whistles have there a week point i`d say)
i gave up to think about metal or wood or plastic sound cause i dont think, whistles sound like wood, metal or plastic and if yes, sometimes wood whistles sound like metal, metal like plastik and plastik…
anyway i like the sound of this whistles and oif a recorder sounds like that, than i like recordersound
i think soundfiles would help here
but as i said i feel still not good enough for public soundfiles specialy not when its about the sound of a whistle …
but i know that many people here have parks whistles (and are v ery happy with them), before i got mine, i did a search here about parks whistles, and i found many threads … so maybe someone else could help with a soundfile?
if not ill see what i can do in the next days (now its nighttime again ;.-)) but id realy if i dont have to record something
anyway, if anybody ask me if its worth to get a parks whistle, specialy the walkabout … my answere is YES of course
Don’t blame your self on that. 
I am a 3 months-newbie as well 
and curious on the sound of different brands of the whistles. Your recording sounds raw and unedited, that I can hear your finger when it taps the whistle making me more interested on the whistle.

Marco, thanks for the question I created the backing in roughly one and half hours give or take 15 minutes. A lot of that time for me is tweaking like the bag pipes I put a low drone over the original sample for better or worse it wasn’t there to start with the drum is very basic and intentional as I didn’t want them to sound polished/perfect. My learning curve started quite a few years ago and I’m thankful to have a friend that played with a progressive band for many years to help me out when I got stuck.

Hello Brus, thanks for listening and advising Ochs sample track is still pretty fast for me. More practice needed by me to play along though I may have a look see if I can drop the tempo on it and give it a go.

Metronomes are your friend. And you can increase tempo in a predictable fashion.
