Lark In The Morning Flutes

Does anyone know about the Irish flutes that Lark In The Morning sells on ebay?

Only that they don;t have a good reputation.

Stick with something tried and tested - get a tipple or CB folk flute or similar.

Also - I always make it a policy to buy instruments directly from the maker. Not only do you know more or less what you;re getting into, but they can really help if you have questions or problems later on. Moreover, in this era, the middleman really adds no value whatsoever to an instrument; I’d rather have that money go to the maker.

yeah, if it’s a new one…
If it’s a used one from someone that I know that is fine,
as is anything from Doc.

I generally agree about getting new flutes from the maker. But, if one is in a hurry and Doc Jones has one in stock; that, is value added; plus he’s great on used flutes.

BTW, if you are not familiar with Terry McGee’s site, it is a very fine source of info on the Irish Flute: http://www.mcgee-flutes.com/

A local person had a Lark (Pakistani) flute for sale. I tried it, and it was AWFUL. Try before you buy!!!

To be fair to Lark, they are advertising Casey Burns and Geo Ormiston flutes as well. Don’t know if they are in stock or they order them…and the prices seem somewhat high.

They have three over $3,000…without specifying the maker.
