For those of you who might know, are the regulator close-ups in the 2004 photo set of Joe Kennedy regulator keys? If so, fair play to Joe, the solid, solder-free keys look beautiful!

I’m pretty sure that was Joe’s case. Listening to Harry Bradley play Joe’s C# set was great. The chanter had a very pleasing tone - soft and delicate in my opinion, and almost more impressive were the drones. They hummed along beautifully matching the chanter in quality. Really gave the impression of a “set” in clever balance. I personally am not big on boxwood accents and would love to see some more interesting exotic woods, but I’m not an expert with that!

Which photos are you referring to? Would that be DSCF4813.jpg? I’m not sure that’s a Joe Kennedy set, although he has made keys in that style for those who ask.

That might be the 3/4 set Joe built a few years ago for Ray Caldwell. Paul might be able to confirm. What was throwing me off is that Joe doesn’t usually use that style of drone key. Can you remember that far back, Paul?

I think you’re absolutely right David, that case has the chanter that Ray uses – it is Chris’ old chanter, so I think you’ve nailed it!
