G’day all,
I’ve just been given,on a permanent loan … a Lachenal Concertina.. ![]()
Would anyone be able to give me an idea as to when it was made please ?
On one side there is a label which reads ..
Lachenal & Co Patent Concertina Manufacturers London ..and on the other side Serial No. 101924 ..
There are two rows of 5 buttons on each side…plus the vent valve (?) on one side..
It seems to be a pretty well made instrument and my friend thinks it is an Anglo Concertina ,as the notes are different on the push and pull (
) …
Thanks for your help … weedie …

In this case:
101924 - 51480 = 50444
50444 / 6838 = 7.38
1895 + 7.38 = 1902
So yours would date from around 1902.
Jeez,M.T. there’s some heavy mathematics happening there
…
Thanks mate…once again, fine service from your good self
..
This is very nice to have been lent an instrument that is over 100 years old..there’s some nice folks around ! ..
