Unfortunately, even with all the time I put in watching Python, I don’t recall that particular skit. I do know that one cannot cut down the tallest tree in the forest with…a halibut! Ni! Ni!

How very disappointing. I was sure someone would have posted a recording of this incredible national anthem, but all I can find is scripts of the Happy Valley sketch. The Germans seem to be thrilled that it aired there first, but I have it on one of the old vinyl LPs. It was a long time afterward before I saw the animation that went with the story. Ok, Ok I need to go back to monty Python 101! When I was into it in a big way, I also started playing tinwhistle, and well, they don’t usually ask you to come to a wedding and recite Python sketches, so I’m rusty. As far as the herring mistake…a nod’s as good as a wink to a blind bat, nudge nudge, wink, wink. say no more.
