Hello Everyone,
Which bodies in Eb could I put on my new Killarney D whistle head? Feadog? Generation? I’ve read conflicting reports in other threads.
Thanks in advance!
There’s no answer other than to try various Feadog and Generation bodies with various Killarney heads.
Because in front of me now I have two Killarney ‘D’ heads and the sockets are slightly different ID’s.
I also have four whistle bodies here, which fit as follows:
Killarney brass ‘D’ body, fits both Killarney heads though really tight on one.
Generation nickel ‘Eb’ body, too big for either Killarney head.
Feadog brass ‘D’ body, too big for either Killarney head.
Generation nickel ‘D’ body, fits on one Killarney head but too big for the other one.
A Killarney Eb would probably give the best results for the least effort?
Or even just a Killarney body.
Yes just getting a Killarney Eb would do.
My two Killarney D heads are different, and I have a pile of old Generation D and Eb bodies which aren’t all of one size either.
My first Killarney had a nice-playing head (octaves right in tune) but the body gave an out-of-tune scale.
I had to try several Generation D bodies to find a tube-to-socket fit.
So now I have a Killarney/Generation hybrid that’s perfect.
