keyless flute wanted

Shopping for a friend… she has a silver flute and is a good player. Now, after trying my Casey Burns keyless, she wants one too. This is someone who is on a low budget, would sell her truck to buy a flute if she didn’t need it to get to work. She’s hoping for something around $500.

I told her I’d check here. Anyone ready to part with a CB or Copley or something similar? Let me know.

Jennie

She can order a CB mopane in any style she wants (all wood only) for $450. Seery or M&E is another option (non-wood) that come with tuning slides.

Eric

Yeah, what he said.

I’ll add:

Mark Hoza in Australia makes a very nice flute. His cheapest models are in the low $300s (US) range. I have one of these, and like it very very much.

For much less than that, Doug Tiple flutes (Am I getting the name right??) are getting good reviews.

There are always the Olwell bamboo models too!

There is a Burns FF for 250 dollars on eBay right now!

hi, check PMs, please. Jim

Thanks, you guys. I’ve been away and now can look more into the PM suggestions that have come in, too. I appreciate all the ideas.

My friend is a musician who was able to play my CB flute pretty smoothly after one good half hour with it, though she was heartily impressed with the breath requirements compared to her silver flute. As well as the reach. That said, she really enjoys bending notes as you can with open holes.

We’ll see what we come up with!
Jennie

typically, an M&E keyless takes less breath than a silver flute.

Nelson

Actually he just raised his prices that is now $500.

Jennie,

I sent you another PM.

Brian

I have a Sweetheart keyless in purpleheart, and I am happy with it (I am a beginner). They go for USD275 at:
