A really basic question: Is it bad for a flute to sit in it’s hard case with a key pushed partially open? Depending on how I fit my flute into the slots in the case, sometimes a key gets opened slightly.
If the the pad sits out from the tone hole for long periods of time, it will decompress. Depending on the tension you have on the spring you could end up with a pad leak.
I just posted my solution here - hope this helps. I would never leave my flute in it’s travel case for long periods of time, btw.
