Apologies for other-than-piping post, but I’d really, really like to track down a County Kerry jersey (hurling or football). Anyone here have one for sale/trade? Traveling to Bush country soon.

I don’t seem to recall Kerry ever making any sort of claims relating his garbled surname to the county in Ireland.
I’m not one for wearing my political allegiances on my sleeve, let alone across my chest, but I did stay for a few months in Co. Kerry some years back and I must admit they do have quite a fine Gaelic football team there…Not bad at hurling or “normal” football either… So I might order one of the jerseys anyway.
And while I hesitate to inject any more political jibba-jabba into this pristine dudelsack forum, I must admit that all this talk of football after the debates strikes me as somewhat appropriate. There were a few times there where George Bush seriously looked and sounded like he had been hit in the head one too many times…

I saw two guys leaning against a wall having a chat in Times Square a few weeks ago. One of them was wearing a Kerry jersey.

Yeah, that’s the down side…but at least they are different than the Democratic Republican party. As much as I can’t stand Michael Moore, I have to agree with him that there is little difference between the two.
The major difference is one of them takes money from the special interests in secret and lies about it to make you think they are for the people…the other one lies right to your face and grants special favors in the open…but don’t get me started whining. 
I love Bloom County too, but Calvin and Hobbes is my all time favorite.

We once had the Rhinoceros Party. Man, I miss them. They used run on platforms like, for a make-work project, employ all the welfare bums to level the Rockies and fill in the Great Lakes, high-brow stuff like that. They very nearly got into office a couple of times. It was viewed as the equivalent to voting “None of the Above”.

Yep - sure enough, the Kerry jersey is the only one that is reversible, which comes in handy when trolling for votes… any vote will do – dead or alive!
