Anyone know if a Howard head will fit a Kerry body? I noticed the Howard heads from whistle shop for 40 bucks. I’m sure somebody in here has both.
I used to. With all the stuff I compared about the low d whistles I had (assuming you mean a low d) I totally did not compare the barrel diameters.
OK, everyone that got one of my low D’s has to send it back so I can measure them!!! 
For all I know, both tubes have an outside diameter of 1.0 in. Now, most Howards may be a bit thicker, because of their powder painting or chrome-plating.
Blackbeer did the reverse: fit a Kerry head on the Howard tube, and that took some sanding of the head itself. I understand he liked the combo.
Thus, it seems that fitting the Howard head on your Kerry tube might need a couple turns of Teflon tape for a snug fit.
PS: lotsa money for this Howard plastic retrofit… Wouldn’t Mack Hoover do something for these 1.0 in tubes and at about the same price?
Hmm. I hadn’t thought about asking him about retrofitting for a big barrel . Probably be close to the same cost. Anyone particular fans of Howards? Maybe I should look into both.
I think they’re pretty much interchangeable, and both a bit squishy, but Howard dropped out of the race so it doesn’t really matter
