Sounds very much like Ulster-Scots to me but I haven’t had much expereince of it other than seeing a few adverts in some Belfast newspapers. It seems a fun language to try and speak , not sure how widespread and how many people speak it. Nevertheless a recognised language and something to be preserved.

A splendid lead into this traditional piece on the kaba giada. The similarity betwen voice and giada is a lot like the the similarity between Sean Nos singing and uilleann pipe slow airs. Great stuff.

Gotta love those gajda intros. Whenever my wife or I pull up along side a car booming out gangsta rap, we respond in kind with gajda music. If you really want to have fun though, get one of those iPod repeaters and sync it up with the radio station the gangsta rap or Banda music is coming from. Pee in your pants funny!
That singer barely scratches the surface of this stuff, and hardly the pure drop of Bulgarian folk.
. Check out any of the Bulgarian Women’s Choir records to hear this singing at the highest levels. It is a must hear!
