Neil Dickey and I finally got it together today for two hrs of whistling..great time. We both agreed how much more funner it was to be able to whistle with somebody else. Low D on melody and high D on the counter melody turned out to be an interesting combo. He also plays a fife that will knock the socks off of you. Thanks, Neil…look forward to next year. Gm
Have I ever mentioned that Grannymouse is a very kind lady? Well, if I haven’t I should have because she is.
I very much liked the High D/Low D combination. Two High Ds, we decided is too much when there aren’t other instruments available to fill out the sound. We played “Scarborough Fair” with me doing the melody on the low whistle and Grannymouse playing a harmony part on the high one that I thought was particularly nice.
An important part of the business is trading favorite songs ( tunes, is it?
), and this we did as well. I have some new ones to learn now – it keeps one from going stale.
Thanks for the compliments on my fifing, Grannymouse; I think you’re pretty darn good with your Weasel.
'Till next year!
Aw shucks…now I’m blushing ![]()
