Just bragging OT

I’ve been invited to perform my work at the annual Concert for Women in Rapid City on March 14th. This is for the creme de la creme for West River, and benefits battered women’s shelters, including one on Pine Ridge, so there was no way I could say “No.” It’s quite the honor to be asked. Unfortunately I will not be playing the whistle, but reading poetry! Funny, reading my work doesn’t give me stage fright, but playing the whistle gives me dry mouth. I’m going in jeans, no formal wear for me! What’s really nice will be hanging out with some women I really like and admire! I have arrived, in any place but Deadwood, and they’re still ticked at me for threatening to chain myself to the front steps of City Hall.

Congrats! Sounds like it’ll be a whole lot of fun, and for a great cause too. I’d love to read some of your poetry, if you’d share it with us!

Sara, there is a prview of my work from my second book on my website, all you have to do is click on notesfromthebadlands.com URL!

Wow, Anna,
Really amazing stuff. Truly moving. Can’t think of anything else to say, but, wow! Awesome job, and you totally deserve that concert. Great great work!

Anna, haven’t those little tin gods (oops, civil servants)seen the light yet? Is that ridiculous no-busking ordinance still in effect? The way things are going with regulation these days, a body won’t be able to make music on one’s own front porch without a fine to pay for it. :imp:

N, sheesh

Nope, they still hate my guts for out-bluffing them with my last threat, they decided I’d make a great speed bump for skateboard kids. They have no place to skate board, because the town is afraid of grafitti! I say give the kids cans of paint and let them decorate a skate board ramp. Just because they don’t like it doesn’t mean it’s not legit art! Besides, it’ll keep those kids occupied with something they want! Can you imagine me teamed up with skate board kids? Snerk snerk!

Congratulations Anna!

I say the town is lucky to have you in it!

More Power to ya! Have fun reading!
