Just bought a flat half set of pipes off ebay

It is as simple as this…

You HAVE the chanter…so…break out the bottle of Lagvulin (16), pin the left forefeather of the fattened goose to the next whimpy Gimpy you see, adjusting for ‘HARD’ breath, then, jump the light Fandango…sorry…it’s anew motherboard…

The chanter is in what key?" Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm…your work is ahead of you. Like you have already (and expertly so, may I add ) stated, tune the chanter first…

..

Sorry, I get carried away from time to time…but somehow I manage to escape again.

Tastes lik chocolate never tasted before

Be patient, it took me a couple of months to get comfortable on the B chanter finger spacing, and there’s still work to do in that area. I esp had to work on the upper G (lower hand index finger). I couldn’t always get it on demand, jumping directly from the lower octave. I found one of the lower fingers leaking. It did help me a lot to play only the B…instead of switching back and forth between B and D all the time. Now, the upper octave is nearly as easy as the lower…when humidity is just right. The reed is breaking in quite nicely.
