Nice-looking set, there. More polished-looking than my full C (sorry, B# ) set by himself, but it’s about, what, 30 years old, too. I like the sound of it, myself. I have a feeling you’re gonna like yours.
The spacing isn’t too much different. Probably expect some squeeking at first on missed holes, but you’ll get passed it quickly.
More importantly you may want to broaden some of your fingering, or at least experiment. I’ve always found flat chanters to tolerate “nuance” better than my concert pitch chanters.

My son has just said he’s interested in learning bagpipes. He’ll be 21 next month. I know “0” about them. I do play the whistle when I have time, but that’s not often, between guitar, dulcimer, recorder & piano, not to mention that I’m forced to work! He has never played any instrument. Can’t read music. I know there are 9 fingering holes on a bagpipe, and most likely Uilleann pipes are different from bagpipes, but, is the fingering vastly different from a whistle?? Probably totally different. Seems like a very difficult first instrument for anyone, but I know nothing about it. I wouldn’t want him to become so discouraged that he’d quit because of the difficulty in the learning process. My thought was that if there is any similarity between the fingering on the pipes and the whistle it wouldn’t be a bad thing for him to try the whistle first, if he likes it, going on to the pipes would be more of a natural progression. If someone could just tell me if the fingering is similar or completely different that would be appreciated. He would need an instructor too, we live between Bloomington, IN (IU) and Columbus, IN. Any input would be great. Thanks. 
If he wants to play the scottish warpipes, he can just get a practice chanter. I don’t play the warpipes, but I don’t think the whistle would be any help in this. The technique is quite different.
For irish music, learning the whistle is never a bad thing. The fingering of the two is reasonably similar, to the point that learning the whistle ornamentation transfers well to the uilleann pipes.

Alan used to make an 18" long chanter often termed Bb, but is somewhat sharp of that pitch. A 17" chanter is sharp of B but flat of C, and some have refered to these as B#, really meaning sharp of B, not C. Egan and others made pipes in this length, and they all seem to be somewhat sharp of modern B in pitch. What length is this chanter?

My Rogge B nat chanter is 451 mm or 17.75" in length.
The Rogge reed for the chanter is 79.7 mm or 3.13" in length and 11.5 mm or 0.45" width.
To get the chanter in tune to B nat with tuner I have to insert the reed in chanter about 22 mm or 0.86" where Rogge has ended the binding on the staple.
If I insert the reed further out of the chanter it can be tuned to B flat.
Coyne B nat Chanter restored by Geoff Wooff (see An Piobaire December 2000) length is 451 mm or 17.75" and reed length 82 mm or 3.23" and 11 mm or 0.43" width

So the Alan Ginsberg chanter is 18" or 457.2 mm in length .
neill41, I see the old space invader is up the D, I think its a Bnat at a guess, “but” Mr Ginberg makes quite a few C’s.
Ginzberg 18" chanters are happiest set up at flat of B but not quite down to B flat. Ginzberg copied a Matt Kiernan 18" which is pitched the same.
