Is there available notebook of his composition’s, or just try find them from different records (O’Brian etc..) ?

Kevin’s CD is beautiful stuff but is unfortunately out of print. Send him an email and let him know that you are interested in buying one. He will be making more at some point over the next couple of years [hopefully!]

The same situation seems to apply to fiddler Paddy Fahey’s compositions as with Junior Crehan’s tunes. He has some great tunes, and many people play some version of them, but I have been unable to find any sort of collection of them. Hopefully someone will address this lack in the future, as was done with the compositions of Ed Reavey and Seán Ryan.

“The Kane Sisters” CD “The Well Tempered Bow” is made up of a lot of Paddy Fahy tunes. Do you have that one? Not too pipe friendly but a lovely album all the same!

The late Tony Crehan, om Junior’s eightiest birthday, published a small collection of Junior’s tunes.
I play a fair number of Junior’s tunes and the yfit the pipes well in a lot of cases (although you may need t ochange key t omake them fit in some cases): The Mowing machine, West Clare Railroad, The Luthradawn (sometimes found as the Lurga don). Stack of oats, Hills of Coore, all of those and morecan be found somewhere on the net.
Junior’s family has been working o na compilation CD of recordings of him playing his own tunes. they will eventually finish it.
RE Paddy fahey, a project was done about eight or ten years ago as a thesis for the World Music centre at UCL. paddy Fahey played all his compositions (or at least those he could remember) into a taperecorder (the tape can be found if you look in the right places and yes I have a copy there are a dozen jig, some fourty reels and a few hornpipes on it). The intention was to have a book of transcriptions published as a result of this project. This too has to materialise yet though I suspect the typescript is sitting hidden in the library of UCL.
Pat, I just checked the track listing of that Kane Sisters album. Are you sure there are any tunes by Paddy Fahey on there? 
Peter, that pretty well sums it up. What resources there might be are not readily available to normal human beings.

Well, Pat that’s a mighty rich offer, but I already have all the pipes I can possibly handle for the next 20 years. I suppose I could always auction yours off for a worthy cause (e.g. The Official Send Me to Ireland for 3 Weeks Fund). Maybe I’ll get a copy of that Junior Crehan book while I’m there.
You had something at the bottom of your note, Pat, but with my failing eyesight, I couldn’t quite make it out, but I’m sure it wasn’t too important. Anyway, I’m already caught up with the idea of you getting me a set of pipes to auction off. I can almost feel how much I’m already starting to hate this CD. Kane Sisters? What kind of a name is that? Probably full of Riverdance and Titanic theme crappola …
