One of my favorite tunes.
Is there anyone who can play it nicely on a keyless flute? It seems to me that an F key is needed to play it at a fitting pace.
Does it work better on a keyless by transposing it to another key?

Shoot… I was looking forward to seeing some flute playing in a dress.

Julia Delaney lays great on the flute when played up a step, in Em instead of Dm. If you want to play it with fiddlers, get a C flute or a C whistle and play the Em fingerings.
I too am disappointed… ![]()

I tried it now.
Very nice, you’re completely right.

This is also a good tune for the taped hole / Dorian tuning trick:

Love the tune. My band insist on playing it in Dm. A “C” flute or whistle fixes things nicely.
