Heard about it from a banjo player who’s thinking of making the trip to Ireland for it. What an awesome, rare opportunity: all those banjos and the people who play them concentrated in one spot…No. I’d best stop thinking what I’m thinking right now; residual radiation is not a good thing. 
Anyway, I understand that Matt Molloy, among other notables, will be there, and it should be brilliant. Anyone know more about this? I think it’s in Laois. 
That’s the beauty of an air-fuel bomb. No radiation, mile-wide blast zone, significant antibanjo tendencies, everything you’d want in a less-than-nuclear response.

Methinks I detect some anti-banjo sentment here… surely the number of banjo players hasn’t gotten to be such, where wide-spread culling is called for? Of course, haven’t having been to session in a great while, I have no real understanding of the current banjo-per-session ratio. As for County Laois…
I think Matt Molloy’s banjo playing sucks.

Yes, yes, Longford, that’s it. We were also talking about Laois that same evening, and the L-word confusion phenomenon got the better of me in initiating this thread. Thanks for the link, Martin.
Paddy Keenan also plays banjo as well. Saw it with me own two eyes at a session; he was just (“just”… :roll: ) playing low whistle, and decided to ask could he borrow someone’s banjo, and he fairly well ripped into it! Quite the all-around musician. I wonder if he plays the pipes…
With a banjo under one arm and a thermo-nuclear device under the other, what would he need with pipes.
