I hadn’t realised that he was nearly 70 years old.
Look at all this terrific guy accomplished.
Teaching black kids in Louisiana, talking with them about
Cochran in the context of discussing affirmative
action, it was hard to believe the training wheels
still were needed on the bicycle. In the civil rights
movement I kept meeting these politically
savvy black folks who were smarter than me and
anybody else I knew. He reminds me of them.
Well done.
We all knew Johnny mainly because of the OJ thing, but on NPR this morning I heard an interesting obit of him which mention’s his fondness for helping the No-J’s of the world: poor people who really needed defense. My estimation of him went up quite a few notches.
Like the OJ decision or not, you must admit he did the job he was paid to do very well.
