Just would like to recommend this cd once again, it might not be too well known, for him being scots, and not irish.
Anyway, he’s the former long-time fiddler and whistler of the battlefield band and has got out two solo albums.
I can recommend both of them, in particular his 2nd album called “yella hoose”.
There’s a track called “mr. andereson’s”. If anyone around here likes the sound of a lowD whistle, (I think there could be a few around here…) then you absolutely must get that disc. Mr. Anderson’s is one of the most beautiful lowD tunes I have ever heard. And it’s easy to learn too.
Get it. You won’t regret it…

Personally, I haven’t heard his music, but I have his book, Bothwell Boy, and the music he wrote is amazing!! Really cool stuff.

Whistling Elf, if I could read notation then John’s book would def be one I’d buy!
Come to think of it, if I COULD read notation then I’d buy quite a few tune-books…perhaps it’s a good thing I can’t..
