Just after receiving the sad news of the death of cocnertinaplayer Gerdy Commane I was just listening to the deathnotices on Clare Fm to hear the funeral details when also the death of whistleplayer John Killourhy was announced.
Gerdy, well into his eighties, and John, in his nineties were two of the old troopers of West Clare music, it’s very sad t osee them gone.
