I was thinking about bidding on this:

What are your thoughts? Think it could be any good?

Looks interesting. By the measurement it might be an Eb.
You know you want this one, andrewK.
Cheers,

I am a tad suspicious that there are so many photos and none of them show the embochure hole. The other holes on this flute look just a little rough so maybe the condition of the embochure hole should be a question. I am a much more experienced ebayer than fluter, so perhaps someone else could say how much of a problem that would be to live with or repair.

I am not into weird band flutes.Or even normal ones.
I hope never to buy another flute !
There would seem to be something wrong with the vendor’s tape measure.
The measurements given don’t make any sense to me.
Same with a Hawkes flute the chap is selling.
The measurements he gives do not relate to anything I have seen, or to each other. I asked about the McGeemeasure, which at 240 mm would indicate a high pitch cylindrical flute but in no way related to the other figures given.
His speaking length is given as 540 and overall length is 625.
I do not think the bidders can have realised that the flute is a) HP or b) cylindrical.
Sold for £87.00 - did he/she get a bargain?
I was the highest bidder during some times… I was especially interested in the case, more than what looks like a strange F flute.
I would not have paid 87£ anyway. The NLI does not tell us a lot about Grey flutes.
