I was just wondering if John Gallagher is still actively making flutes. I contacted him a while back to set up an order. Everything seemed to be set but when I tried to reach him six months later, I never received a reply to any of my e-mails. I decided to let it sit a while longer to see what would happen, but having heard nothing from him I’m curious whether he is still making flutes or has he stopped.
If anyone has any info, if would be much appreciated. Also, if he is still active and if anyone has his current contact info, I would really like to know so I can try to reach him again.
Yes, he’s active. Making a new headjoint for me, actually. Well, it’s for my Hall flute, to be precise. My headjoint is still ok (but getting kinda old and worn out). He makes superb flutes, but keeps busy enough without advertising. Phone is best with him…
He’s alive and well, saw him two weeks back in WV, brought my flute for a checkup. He just made an Eb section for it too which I’m excited about. Keep trying, he’s around.
Thanks for your suggestions. I tried the phone number and got him right away. He remembered my order and I am happy to say that he will make my flute this fall: 8-key Rudall in blackwood here I come!
Michael
P.S. Sorry for getting carried away. I’m just really glad that I was still on his books.
