I don’t think she can quite reach all the fingerholes, but she should be able to drool into the mouthpiece a bit…
Jessie, you take the most precious pictures! I’ve got to get a digital camera when I have a kid.
Wow Jessie! You’ve lost an enormous amount of post baby weight! That whistle is huge! What is it, one of those low low A’s? I like your bonnet by the way.![]()
You mean even the kid won something in the raffle and I didn’t?? Nyuk.
So cute.
great name, too.
nice choice!
now NEVER use those words as a title of a thread again. it’s not healthy for my heart. ![]()
I was thinking about contacting Jessie to see if this whistle was still for sale, but I guess it’s out of the question now: Joey appears to have one heck of a grasp on that thing - Look folks, it’s Joey Driscoll with the Kung-Fu Grip! ![]()

Hello Jessie. This reply seems fitting for my first post (in quite a while!). Joey’s picture is going up in the shop. He’ll grow into the whistle for sure. It’s mostly used as a percussion instrument now, I’ll bet. To quote Joey “the Lips” Fagan of The Commitments- “I believe in beginnings”. I can see your Joey’s off to a great start.
Mike, great to see you here! I’d love to see you in person again, too! I am thrilled that Joey will be up in the shop…but I want to tell you that Joey is a girl. Joey Rose Driscoll, my daughter.
The whistle is not yet a percussion instrument (when that starts happening, I will take away her Copeland temporarily and replace it with a Susato or something), but a comfort device. She just holds it still. She does, however, dance (as one can dance on one’s back) to Irish-ish music (Steampacket’s CD seems to he her current favorite).

Nancy, I enjoyed those e-mails back and forth between you and my father-in-law about the ancestry.

I enjoyed them too Jessie!! It’s soo much fun to find others who have the same roots as you!! I envy your F-I-L that he got a chance to go to Ireland…something I will probably never get to do!! The photos he sent me were GREAT!!
