I have wondered how many people on the board are descendants of
Jenny Wiley.
Not that I know of, but my Dad’s family did come from Tazewell, VA, near where the story begins.
None of the surnames in her lineage ring a bell. Guess it’s because they ended up in Kentucky.
My wife’s family is also from this area but the only surname I recognize is Phipps. My wife’s family did have Phipps but further back. I was just reading an account of my family in New York state, the Putmans, that had several generations killed in indian raids. Those were hard times.

My ancestors were still in Ireland and Scotland at this time.
Interesting Daniel! My family on my mother’s (Willcox) side was in that area at the same time, moving out from King’s county New York, then through Pennsylvania, then on to the Niagara frontier and then Colchester in Southern Ontario.
I read through the list of descendants but found no familiar names.
Elijah Willcox (or Wilcox) married a native women only known as Amy in Pennsylvania before moving to Southern Ontario.
Surprising that the names in Jenny’s ancestry don’t cross, considering that there wasn’t that many European settlers in that area at that time!
