It is the coolest thing I’ve ever heard of that, in French, the whistles are referred to as being Do, Ré, Mib (mi flat!), Fa, Sol, and La, instead of C, D, Eb, F, G, and A. (Alas, no Ti.)

I have a le Meur whistle in D. Ordered straight from the man himself and with minimal fuss. It’s a very nice whistle, high-end but without the “high-end sound” of say a chieftain, which I’m not a great fan of.
At first, I had trouble with the high B, which is somewhat shrill, but after reading some wise words by Peter Laban and having my teacher try it out, I realised that I was as much to blame as the whistle.
My main complaint is in the finish: it looks rather rough and ready, with many scratches on the body and the fipple and tone holes not looking as neatly finished as some. The chamfered holes are very nice.
Between it and my feadog, I have found most of my whistling needs answered.
In light of this, someone should suggest to him that he change the wording on his Web site, which puts him squarely in competition with Overton.
There is a clip of Tony Hinnigan trying one out on his downloads page. It sounds great and Tony was very impressed. I visited the LeMeur site after watching the clip and I found his whistles to be very attractive. When some of my other whistle desires are fulfilled I’d like to get one to add to my collection.
