Although others may already have done so, I thought I would like to comment on what a remarkable resource this is. I use the taste and experience of people posting here to find nice tunes to play, and then go to JC’s to see if I can get the music. Not only do I find most of the tunes mentioned in peoples posts, but frequently, beyond getting several versions of the tune, I find other wonderful tunes with similar names.
I don’t have a “slow down the music” program to take tunes off CD’s, so, old remembered tunes played by ear, some books, and JC’s provide most of my music.
Who are the folks who created and maintain this wonderful resource? How does one say thank-you?
PS: I have discovered that quite a lot of tunes on television commercials are in the key of C G D or A. Playing along on a quiet whistle may not make great music, but it’s more fun than just watching a commercial, and good practice for playing by ear.
NOTE: Your spouse’s approval or absence is required to do this.

The “JC” is John Chambers <jc@trillian.mit.edu>. I’m sure he’d be glad to hear from appreciative fans.
John
I’ve had contact from John who had some very good advice vis-a-vis my website when it was more fledgling than it currently is.
Some of his advice I followed. Some I saw the use of but time limits and technical limits meant that I couldn’t take it on board. He’s a good bloke and deserves an e-mail every now and again reminding him of the fact.
(And if you have an abc library in your own website, containing your own or other tunes, he may welcome the opportunity to link TuneFinder to your library!)
His e-mail addresses (in the order that he’s likely to read them) are:
jc@trillian.mit.edu
jc@ecf-guest.mit.edu
jmchambers@rcn.com
jc@oban.blackmill.net
jcsd@world.std.com
Thank-you John and Aidan.
I have sent John a note.
I agree! JC’s is great for locating tunes and the first place I check. Heres the link for JC’s for folks who may want to take a look:
Also, heres some other sources on the Web for locating tunes:
