worst part is you’ll be paying the ebay fees on a fixed price whether you sell the flute or not.
I hate when that happens.

Thanks. Actually, eBay charges that price if you have a low starting bid and a high reserve, but if you just have a high starting price, eBay charges a regular listing fee (around $5 or so, not counting the fee for featured items). :slight_smile:

ah
well, then I must have gotten screwed on a flute I listed a couple months ago.
reserve priced far below yours and cost me $35 even though it didn’t sell.
sold it off-list, but still seemed like a bad deal.
oh well…must be me.

and thanks for the blurb on the German flute…although I can’t phathom why it matters that I sold it for “several hundred dollars” (but it really wasn’t THAT much money). Good thing it wasn’t a Rudall…then you’d say several “Thousand” dollars.

Well, your opinion of value is respected, and I didn’t know exactly how much you sold it for, just ball park. I had a low starting bid on it and I wanted potential buyers to have some inkling of what it might be worth.

Well David, from the purchaser’s point of view, it didn’t hurt. It started out as a big plus, then I realized that three other people had owned it since it was in your hands. Probably more important was Jessie’s assurance that “Volume, tone and intonation are fine.” I’m not looking for a great flute, just something to let me know if I would use keys enough to upgrade my Copley. And here in the Midwest, “several” means more than two. :smiley:

And I agree with you about Jessie’s daughter’s eyes (Just don’t let MY daughter know!!)
